The pink pools and Chichen Itza, departing from Merida Yucatan visit the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza, swim in the refreshing crystal clear wáter of an underground cenote and enjoy the natural colors of the pink pools in the biosphere reserve of Rio Lagartos, home of the American pink flamingo.
Tour Description
We will start this beautiful day by picking you up at the meeting point in Merida Yucatan, the goal is to arrive in Chichen Itza early, since it is the most visited in the area, at that time we will have the opportunity to enjoy the site with fewer people, have better pictures and take advantage of the refreshing morning. You can bring your breakfast but we will stop in a convenience store to grab something to eat. Inside the archaeological site, the guide will explain to you the importance of the city and the Mayan civilization.
Afterward, we will continue to cool off and swim in the refreshing crystal clear wáter of a cenote (natural sinkholes, unique in the Yucatan Peninsula), on our way to the pink pools we´ll stop in Temozon town where we will eat lunch, they have a great variety of local food as well as vegetarian options. Then we will hit the road again towards Rio Lagartos to visit the salt mines in Las Colorados, where you will be able to take amazing pictures of the pink pools and the pink flamingos that inhabit the biosphere reserve of Rio Lagartos. Finally, we will head back to Merida.

- 6:00 am Pick up at the meeting point in Merida Yucatan.

- 8:00 am Visit the archaeological site of Chichen Itza (8 to 10 am).
- 10:30 am Visit and enjoy the cenote (10:30 to 11:30 am).
- 12:00 pm Lunchtime.
- 02:30 pm The pink pools and Biosphere reserve of Rio Lagartos.
- 5:30 pm Back to Merida (arrival between 5:30 to 6:30 pm).
